Vegan beauty alternatives for your makeup bag stash

I need a mascara that works extra hard because I love the look of big fluffy lashes, that still look natural, but I can never be bothered to apply false lashes. I’m very strict with mascaras, I want them to give maximum volume and to extend the length of my lashes while conditioning them and helping to upkeep the health of my natural lashes.

Mascaras are often formulated with collagen protein (an ingredient that helps strengthen eyelashes to help them appear fuller). However, normal collagen is animal-derived and therefore non-vegan. I was concerned that this mascara might not perform as well without it, but this formula is packed with a super-conditioning vegan collagen instead.

The way it’s packaged feels super luxe, it’s a 100% glass bottle that feels perfectly weighty, giving glamour. The spiral brush wand makes it easier to coat every lash jet black from the root up. For that extra length, there are tiny, plant-based fibres that hook onto the natural lashes, and ta-dah, three or four coats give you the most natural but bold butterfly lash. Here is your sign to get yourself a vegan mascara immediately. Starting here.

Product: Glowish Cheeky Vegan Blush Powder, £18, Feel Unique

I’m a sucker for a cream blush as I reckon they give a fresher finish, but I was surprised by how much I love the Cheeky Vegan Blush Powder by GloWish. It has subtle light-reflecting and soft-focus pigments that give skin a healthy hit of colour and the swirled marble design blends a few different shades together to give a more natural-looking blush to cheeks.

I’ve found myself reaching for the shade Caring Coral over my usual cream blush shade (there’s also peach, berry, and cherry to choose from). Application-wise, I’ve been sweeping it across the bridge of my nose as well as my cheeks for a winter-appropriate glow. And, since all of Huda’s GloWish range is vegan, there are plenty more options to explore for high-performing makeup that’s cruelty-free.
