The SAG Awards is back on track with a full-scale IRL ceremony taking place from the Barkar Hangar in Santa Monica. Given the Golden Globes happened quietly without being broadcast and the Critics Choice was pushed to later in March, this is the first time tinsel town has come together this year to celebrate the best of TV, film and streaming. And obvs the occasion calls for full-scale glamour, with elite hair and makeup looks.
Behind the scenes, the celebs have been busy prepping. Ariana DeBose, who’s nominated for outstanding performance by a female actor in a supporting role for her work as Anita in West Side Story, shared a #bts Instagram shot of her visit to Hollywood aesthetician, Joanna Varga. The actress primed her skin ahead of the red carpet with a Revitalight LED Bed to stimulate cell turnover and a master facial to leave her skin looking supremely fresh. Likewise, actresses Sandra Oh, Helen Mirren and Naomi Watts all tapped up FaceGym’s EMS (Electrical Muscle Stimulation) devices for some pre-awards face sculpting.
Of course, no A-list hair and makeup look would be complete without their glam squad, but alongside being joined by her hairstylist and MUA, Squid Games actress, HoYeon Yung, was supported by an extra companion, in the form of a teensy dog, complete with his own Squid Games green tracksuit.
HoYeon kept it simple, fresh and elegant with two of the biggest beauty trends of the evening: ultra luxe skin (emphasises by minimal eye makeup and a natural-looking lip) and sleek centre parted hair – in hair case a long plait, accessorised with an embellished bow to match her floor-length silver and black Louis Vuitton dress. Elsewhere, Selena Gomez followed the same route with pretty, pared-back makeup and a neat bun, decorated with a silk navy bow.
