During a recent appearance on Live With Kelly and Ryan, the Skims mogul revealed that it takes eight hours to touch up her platinum blonde roots. Perhaps to project an air of reliability, Kardashian showed up to the talk show before covering up her dark hairline. “I’m going to dye it soon,” she told Kelly Ripa and Ryan Seacrest. “I’ve just been lazy. It’s so much work.” #RelatableQueen
Ripa then told Kardashian to look on the bright side – she could be dealing with dreaded grey hair (oh, the horror). “So I’ve heard,” Kardashian replied. “I have not gone grey yet. I haven’t had a grey hair yet – isn’t that weird?” Yes, because it doesn’t seem to be true.
Ironically, Kim Kardashian’s first supposed grey hair was mentioned on Live With Kelly and Ryan in 2018.
At the time, Kardashian’s then-husband Kanye West was making headlines over a series of controversial rants and promises of a 2020 presidential run. “He gave me my first grey hair this week, and I am blaming that on him,” Kardashian joked during an appearance on the talk show that May, per People.
While we could chalk that up to a figure of speech or hyperbole, a more recent episode of The Kardashians seems to prove otherwise.
In the second episode of The Kardashians, which aired on Hulu in April 2022, the reality star is in New York City ahead of her Saturday Night Live debut. While getting glammed up, stylist Chris Appleton spots a strand of grey, asking, “Want me to pull this grey hair out?”
