It’s safe to say that 2022 belongs to Julia Fox. Her brief (yet oh-so dramatic) relationship with Kanye ‘Ye’ West was just the start, we can also thank her – or not – for the revival of low-rise jeans, thumbprint eyeliner, and the memes. So many memes.
Unless you’ve been living under a rock (or don’t happen to have TikTok), you’ll be familiar with Julia’s distinct pronunciation of ‘Uncut Gems’, which, honestly, is absolutely life-changing.
Speaking on the Call Her Daddy podcast with Alex Cooper, Julia was asked if she was Ye’s muse and what she would define a muse as, to which she responded with the now-iconic line: “I mean, I was Josh Safdie’s muse when he wrote ‘Uncut Gems‘, you know?”
Of course, it was her delivery of this statement that had the internet in stitches. Now, there’s nothing wrong with a bit of vocal fry, but Julia’s pronunciation of ‘Uncut Gems’ was instantly meme-worthy. Mainly because it sounded more like “Uncah Jahmz.”
People were soon sharing their reactions on Twitter and TikTok, with one person tweeting, “I have been thinking about the way Julia Fox says “Uncut Gems” every waking moment of this day,” while another wrote, “I can’t stop saying “uncut gems” like Julia fox,” and another added, “Julia fox saying “uNka Jamz” instead of uncut gems broke my brain.”
ICYMI, here’s a clip of the viral video:
Thankfully, Julia seems to be taking the internet’s reaction pretty well. After Page Six shared an Instagram compilation of all the best reenactments of ‘Uncah Jahms’, she commented on the post, “Omg, I was stoned. Leave me alone! Hahahahahah 😂😂😂.”
Is anyone else going to spend the rest of the day muttering ‘Uncah JaaaahaMz” under their breath? Because same.
